Why do new videogames take so much room to save?

I'm just wondering why new video games take so much more space to save than old ones? For example a Playstation 2 game takes about 150 kilobytes to save but a playstation 3 game takes 150 mega-bites to save. I could understand if new game took a little more room than older games to save but a 1,000 times as much?! Why do new games take so much more room to save, what the heck are they saving?!?

I suspect that the reason you've not seen such a study, is because none have been done. I really don't know anyone who has smoked natural cigarettes exclusively, never having smoked a Marlboro or a Winston (or other combustible plants). Common sense dictates though that smoking isn't good for you. Whenever there's a gr or forest fire (we have those here) the health officials warn of poor air quality, and that people with respiratory issues should stay indoors. All that's burning (aside from a house here and there) are trees and other natural plants. Contaminants in the air we breath are not good for us, whether they're natural or not.

Any suggestions for funny christmas presents ?

Well this one is different! I collect canned foods for the food pantry every year and a couple of Christmases ago we had a small gift exchange & I got this really odd looking package & it was a lid to a garbage pail. (a large lid). Well everyone started laughing, except me, and then one of the guys wheeled in a huge trash can full of canned meats and fruits and veggies. These were all items my friends had collected for me to give to my favorite charity, the Food Pantry! After Christmas donations are always down so these were very much appreciated!! Why are Vets so rough & quick to make decisions??

There are a lot of bad vets. You will find one that is very kind to animals. They are out there. I had to put my cat down I could not go my husband to him and the vet and my husband cried together while she euthanized my cat. He was like our baby. That was years ago. Then in January of 07 we had to put my moms dog to sleep. Same vet and this time all three of us were in there while the vet put him down and we all cried. At the animal hospital she is the only one I would ever go to cause you can tell just by talking and how she treats the animals she would be great. I hope you find one like her. They are out there.

Playstation 3 online networking is slow. I've tried hard wiring, and wirelessly connecting. . . HELP!?

Ok, I've read multiple posts on this same subject and just can't seem to get an answer that works, so I decided to write my own question on Yahoo Answers. Here's the deal, I own a PS3 (obviously) and I've tried hooking it up wirelessly but it's so dang slow when downloading, so I tried hard wiring into my router...STILL SLOW (About the same speeds), I've tried plugging it straight into my modem. AGAIN, slow. (I know a trend here.) I've tried setting up a DMZ, Opening the correct ports, turning off media sharing. All make no difference. Now, ONCE in a while it will be fast but slow back down to crawling speeds. I've called Playstation Cust. Support and Midcontinent Comm. Support (MY ISP) and both don't know what could be wrong (Go Figure) my computer speeds are up there 13000 kbs download / 700 upload speeds but my ps3 is lucky to even get over 3000 kbs download / 700 upload if anybody has fixed this please share. Ive been a vegetarian for a week and Ive realized a problem. I go to my friends house a lot, be it for the day or the weekend, and they don't really eat a lot of veggie friendly foods. Our daughter is 4 months old and we are thinking about getting her ears pierced when she turns 6 months old. There is always the thought in the back of my head though we should just wait and let her make the decision. I also remember though working at Claire's years ago where we would peirce little girls ears and they would want the earrings so bad but not want to go through the pain or just be scared to death. Blood work was wrong?

I had my (almost) 5 month ultrasound today and it turns out Im only almost 4 months. Wouldn't the blood work have been wrong then? The baby and everything is measuring/dating at 14 almost 15 weeks. i was supposed to be almost 19 weeks. Its not a matter of a underdeveloped fetus either. He/She is perfect just not at what the doctor said.

This is one scenario we frequently find ourselves in. I will be sitting at the kitchen table, or anywhere else. He will come up, looking up at me all cutsie and inquisitive. I look down at his cuteness and smile and reach my hand down to pet him. BOOM, cutsie turns into a MONSTER. He jumps away, runs back in and nips at my hand, I say OUCH and pull my hand away. If I have rectangular tables & I'm using 72" tablecloths... How long should I get the runners to be? Should they fit exactly to the end of the tablecloth? Do I go longer? But how long is too long? Experience with Neural Tube Defect or AFP Test?

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and my doctor called me today with the results of my AFP (alpha fetaprotein) test and told me that they indicated my baby is positive for a neural tube defect (my AFP level was elevated). She also told me that there are alot of false positives with this test and the rate of false positives is 1 in 75. I have no history of neural tube defect in my family, I am 20 years old, my husband is 22 and has no history of this in his family, I was taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid for three months before I conceived, and my doctor did not notice any abnormalities in the baby at my 19 week scan. Does anyone have a similar experience or any information on neural tube defects or false positives with an AFP blood test in the second trimester that they can share? I'm really worried and I cannot get in to have a high definition ultrasound until next Wednesday. Any information would be highly appreciated!

We are attempting to track a high altitude balloon using APRS equipment. We have not been able to get adequate range on ground level (< 1.5 miles). After some extensive troubleshooting, we believe that our antenna is to blame. We built a dipole antenna for a specific frequency (144.39 MHz). We followed the directions for building a dipole antenna. We used a center insulator with two arms made of uninsulated copper wire. Our connections are well soldered and the lengths of the arms are correct. I know someone who was accused of a lewd act. The other person made up this story about how he exsposed himself. There are no witnesses. He has no previous offense of this. The person did this because he saw her physically abusing her son, so I am guessing she made up this story in case he went to the police with what he saw. He is very upset over this whole thing. I worked at a clothing store on melrose in which I did everything from sales to opening and closing the store. I never had any problems and everything seemed fine. On my 9th month of working there I found out I was pregnant. One day before I had told my boss I was pregnant I had some complications in which I was bleeding and really dizzy, so I called my coworker to come cover for me and as I was waiting for her to come I called my boyfriend to go pick me up and looked up the directions to the hospital. While I was doing this a man went into the store to stole stuff but I was not aware of it until my boss told me the next. This day I told my boss why I was distracted because he wanted to fire me. He did not fire me but since that day he kept telling me that business was not well and that he might be closing the store. A few months later there was another shoplift incident in which I was aware of and I did confront the person and called the police (I have the report). Next day the owner had a meeting with me in which he told me that I should of snatch the clothes away from the shoplifter or ran after her to stop her I was three months pregnant when this happened he also told me that it did not seem like I could handle the job because I couldn't get physical with a shoplifter. He really wanted to fire me but he knew it would have been unfair so he didn't. One month ped and in the beginning of December 2010 he told me that he had to let me go in 2 weeks because the store was not doing well and he was going to close it. I got laid off at 1 year of working there. In Late January I filled for unemployment because no one was hiring me. When the owner from the clothing store was contacted by the unemployment department he called me and offered me a job at the offices from the factory in which the clothes from the store we sold was made and I said sure so I closed my unemployment case. I have not been able to reach him since and today I ped by the store which is still open ( I was told it was going to close and that he couldn't afford to pay me anymore) and it had a big help wanted sign.

Can you make regular scalloped potatoes in a crock pot using only flour and milk no cheese or canned soup?

Hi, if you cook the potatoes whole until just starting to get tender, then let them cook a little and peel and cut into slices. Put the slices into the crock pot in layers, adding any other flavor you like, for instance someone suggested onions. Onions and potatoes go really well together. Then in a saucepan melt some er and add the same amount of flour...and milk. Basically you are making a white sauce. It depends on how many potatoes and how full you want to make your crock pot on how much you make but generally speaking 2 tbs of er and 2 tbs of flour will thicken half a litre of milk to a nice consistency. Instead of salt use a stock powder called "Vegeta". It gives the white sauce a nice flavour. Of course any stock cube or powder will do but you will be amazed at how much flavour vegeta gives the sauce. (regular vegeta, not chicken or beef or seafood, it comes in a blue package or tin. pour over the potatoes and set the pot on high, when the white sauce seems to be getting hot you can turn it down to low for the day. You can make all this the night before and put it together and in the fridge then the next day put your crock pot on automatic, usually that means high at first and then low. Good luck.

How do I cope with physical and mental abuse?

About a month ago, my dad physically aulted me, He put me in a choke hold and the only way I could escape was to bite him, I did. I tried to break away again but he pulled the back of my shirt, and I almost fell down the stairs. Anyway, the police were called and he was taken down to jail. The next day, he was very angry that he went to jail and e-mailed me saying all sorts of things like I attacked him first, (which I didn't) and all sorts of other untrue things. I am now living with my mom, an although I'm happy living with her, I'm going through a lot of pain, both physical and emotional. After the attack, I found all sorts of bruises on my body, and I could barely walk without falling down. That eventually went away after a week or so, but the emotional pain is still very much in me, and I haven't had break since the attack. I mean, I've had to hire an attorney, I had to go to court and file all sorts of papers, basically, it's been a living hell this past month, and it's really getting to me. Now I'm being told that my dad wants to reconcile with me and try to work things out But the problem is, I don't think I could ever forgive him for what he did to me and all of the pain he caused me. Plus, the court ordered no contact, and I have a five year injunction against him so even if I could reconcile with him, I can't contact him and he can't contact me. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, how am I going to get through all of this? On the one hand, he hurt me badly, but on the other, he is my dad, and I still love him. Right now, I'm between a rock and a hard place and don't know what to do. If anybody could give me any tips, I would really appreciate that.

From my experience,you're overlooking the obvious culprit, which would be the cd or dvd drive itself.I've had problems as you describe before when trying to install xp,switched out the cd drive and problem solved.You may not have gotten an error message when you installed vista, but that doesn't mean it installed correctly.I've had power supplies die before and they never affected any other hardware.You said the computer would crash when a cd was in the drive,I'd check the power cable and cable from the mobo to the cd or dvd drive and/or replace the drive.

Explain to your sis that you are getting older and while you do not want to make her feel like she is being left out, you have to be able to divide your time as well as your schedule will permit. Try taking your sister out with you and your gf to the movies or just walking around the mall or something she enjoys doing. Is my Friend Mentally ILL?

Your friend does sound as though she has changed a lot. However, the thing is if she does not or cannot acknowledge she has a problem, then no one will be able to help her. She has to be willing to reach out for help. You sound like you are being a good friend that cares for her very much, but there are somethings that you cannot do for your friends. I know because, my best friend has depression and health problems and we have been friends for 40 years. The Avalon is a bigger car. The ES is the same as the Camry. Personally, I think the Lexus, especially the ES is an over priced car. I recently tried both of them and thought the Avalon was much more car for the money. I would up with a Nissan Altima because it had more room in it than both the Toyota and Lexus. I'm watching a show on the History Channel about how bad our infrastructure is. The vast majority of our roads are becoming obsolete. Potholes and sewer leaks are rampant everywhere. The levees breaking in New Orleans and the bridge collapse in Minneapolis should be wake-up calls. They did a recent survey around the country and all of our roads, sewers, pipelines, aqueducts, water mains, and bridges got a D. That is abysmal. Infrastructure is a key part in the development of a nation. That was how Rome became an empire. They built numerous bridges, roads, and aqueducts. Germany became a world superpower when Hitler built the Autobahn. China is rising fast because they are investing heavily in infrastructure. Back during the Eisenhower Administration, our government spent 12 percent of its budget on infrastructure. We now spend roughly 2 percent. What is the deal? These roads are reaching their expiration dates. This is something you might hear about in Third World countries. It really irritates me when I read about other First World nations having sound infrastructures. Last year, when I went to Canada, I was embarred to be an American. I was ashamed not just because I'm from Texas (the home of GW Bush.) I was disgusted because I saw that the roads and engineering in Canada were night and day from the ones here.

I feel so sorry for you-I suffered with a 'fungus' type rash, the dermatologist guessed (?) and nothing would get rid of it for more than a year-Lamisil pills and cream did nothing. I took it internally and put it on the rash as well-it has worked so far-I don't know really what it was. I've ridden a grand total of 3 Fjords. They were extremely docile, people oriented and opinionated. I liked them a lot. I believe if you get along with yours, and establish immediately that YOU are the "alpha mare" that she'll do anything for you. Worried for my adopted dog?

I have recently adopted my deceased father's Jack Russell Terrier.He was the only dog in the house and was the centre of attention.He went everywhere with my Father He is almost 6 and neutered.He has a very fond attatchment to my son. who just loves him, they do everthing together. walks and play and also sleeps with him,sometimes he sleeps with me.But I am concerned about his nature towards me.
