How do I remove mildew from upholstery?
Mildew's bonding qualities grow into the upholstery. So, a good scrubbing will not remove the mildew and will leave your fabric looking worn. Also, certain fabrics will bleed and you will have a spot that looks worse! Using chemicals on upholstery is NOT recommended! They can make colors bleed or bleach the area. If you choose to do this yourself contact the manufacturer of the furniture for advice. If not, contact your local carpet cleaning company to ist you. They have equipment and solutions designed to clean and deodorize upholstery.
