Looking for an anime about a girl/military weapon?

I read this manga a while back about a girl who loved this guy. The girl was generally weak looking and small, while the guy is athletic and strong. She ends up being a military weapon and fights off the enemy as a cyborg chic of some sort. Help please? I don't remember the title and it's driving me nuts.
