Why are todays conservatives ignoring Friedman's warning against privatization of roads, military, and courts?

Today's Republicans/conservatives are the most radical they have ever been in the history of our Country. We have seen our military expenditures nearly double since Rumsfeld began his mive military privatization scheme. We even have private contractors overseeing the private contractors. It's the ultimate in bureaucratic waste and it is being done by private companies.
