Do I need to get a degree in Screenwriting?

In a couple years I would like to go to NYU... I would like to double major in Acting, and Journalism. I am a tv/film Actor, and want to be a cultural/critic journalist. But I am also a creative writer and a screenwriter. Do I need a degree so I can create tv shows/film.... Any suggestions? Thanks!
